Last weekend in February was sunny and too warm for that time of year. Fortunately the snow at higher altitude was still great for skiing without becoming wet and heavy in the afternoon. Velika planina was white and frozen in the morning, but later on the trees started to drip with melting snow. The views were terrific the whole day though and with only a handful of skiers the place was a great choice to spend a beautiful day skiing.
After almost two weeks of some nasty cold (or even flu) it was pure bliss to be finally able to go out and enjoy some fresh air. My friends went skiing whereas I opted to hike to the top of Mt. Španov vrh above Jesenice. The weather was great and the hike wasn't too strenuous for my devastated lungs. :)
Luka, Andrej and I tried our luck in cave photography. It was really just an amateur attempt as we didn't have the proper equipment, but it was interesting nevertheless. I posted several photos taken from the same position to show different lighting as we were running around with flashlight trying to illuminate the dark cavern from different directions.
