Later, I went to the nearby Lake Cerknica to see the sunset and take a couple of pictures.

Then we stopped at Lake Jasna near Kranjska Gora.

Later we went for a walk along the lake shore.

A quick descent to the Pogacnikov dom proved to be long and hot. But the views were great. This is the upper lake of the three (Zgornje Krisko jezero).

After a two-hour ascend from Lake Bohinj we arrived at the Komna hut at 1520 meters above sea level. We just caught the last sun rays washing over the surrounding mountains.

The night was short. We got up at 4.30 to start the hike early, but before we set off, the view over Lake Bohinj enveloped in fog left us with our mouths open.

From the pass we started descending towards the Krn Lake.

It only got worse as we were nearing the lake. Luckily we had lots of paper tissues with us.

Krn Lake (1391 meters above sea level) in all its glory. There is Mt. Krn (2244 meters above sea level) in the background.

More flowers. Any way you look at the lake and the mountains, it's spectacular.

Another reflection at Krn Lake.

It's fantastic to just lie on the lakeshore, but swimming is not recommended.

Lake Krn one more time.

We said good-bye to the Krn Lake and headed back the way we came, towards the Vratca pass.

More flowers, more grass. Incidentally, we weren't the only ones with the allergy. Quite a few people at the lake were sneezing too.

From here you can see directly to the Triglav Lakes Valley with Mt. Triglav itself in the bakground.

After a large bowl of jota (potato-sauerkraut-beans-sausage casserole) and beer we looked at Lake Bohinj for the last time before heading back to the valley. It was a long, but fantastic day!

The area is full of small lakes that were now almost frozen.

I was sitting on the left-hand side in the back, so in order to take photos from the right-hand side window I had to simply point the camera blindly and press the shutter. I managed to catch Lake Bled. :)

It took one hour to get to the Lovrenc lake area. First, I climbed the viewing tower. You can't even see the lakes as they are hidden among the low but thick vegetation.

First of the lakes.

Lake Cerknica is extremely high, flooding a large area along with many trees.

After a brief coffee break in Kranjska Gora we headed to the Mangart lakes, already in Italy. There was still so much snow!

The two lakes are unbelievably green.

The upper lake and the ring of mountains with Mt. Mangart and Mt. Ponca.

The lower lake was just as green.

We continued past Trbiž to the Rabelj Lake. This small islet is so photogenic, but the light was harsh.

This is the view to the other side - you can see a green lake in the middle of the opposite mountain.
