One afternoon in late May the clouds seemed interesting, so I grabbed my camera and drove around for a while, capturing the fields and dramatic sky on the way. Later that day the storm approached and the clouds turned dark and ominous.
It was time to take some sunrise photos again, so I kicked myself out of bed at 4 a.m. and drove to the hill of Sv. Ana south of Ljubljana. From there the views over the Ljubljansko Barje marshland are fantastic. I was hoping for the weather to help me out, and it did - there were mists laying low to the ground until sun came up; then they turned into thick fog that rose all the way up to the hill where I was shooting from. They dissipated soon enough, but by then the light wasn't so great anymore, so my photo session ended at around 7.30 a.m.
Apart from taking photos of the mists, I also played around with bracketing to make HDR (high dynamic range) photos.
Kittens are little devils. Can't stay still for one second! I had fun chasing her around for an hour though ... and so did she. :) These are mostly fun piccies, some are even slightly OOF (out of focus), but for a more serious photo session I'll need more time, a better preparation and a helper to distract the kitty while I try to get some decent photos of her.
My brother rescued a tiny kitten after it had been abandoned by its mother. Instead of taking it to an animal shelter, he took the cute little cat home. He only got it yesterday and I just had to go to his house and snap a few photos. They are not very good because it was late and getting dark, but I'm sure there will be more piccies of this cutie here soon.
May 1 - Labor Day - is a holiday and most people go on a short vacation. I went to the small resort town of Punat on Island Krk to relax for a few days. I only got one sunny day with clear skies and went to the beach a little late when the light was already harsh, so these photos are more or less just documentary.
