My friends Črt and Luka and I got up at 4 a.m. one morning and headed to the Adriatic coast to shoot the sunrise at the Sečovlje salt pans (Sečoveljske soline). It was freezing at 6.30 and the light was sweet. After exploring the area of now disused salt pans we drove to Portorož, the biggest Slovenian seaside resort town, for some coffee, and concluded the day with a short stop at Lipica, the famous stud farm and the origin of the Lipizzaner horses.
