After spending half the night taking photos of star trails, we didn't wake up to a sunrise as spectacular as we had hoped. The light was nice, but there were no clouds in the sky to make things more interesting. But being in the mountains and watching the snow turn from blue to pink to orange as the sun rises is always an enjoyable experience. :)

My friend Luka and I climbed Velika planina one sunny January afternoon to wait for the night and shoot star trails. We couldn't have asked for better conditions: the sky was clear, there was almost no wind and the moon soon set behind the mountains.

The weather was moody and changing all the time, so I abandoned initial plans to climb Mt. Viševnik and went skiing on the Pokljuka kiddy course for a couple of hours instead. The sweet light at Pokljuka marshes was a nice conclusion of a nice day spent outdoors.

I hadn't shot Kamnik in the festive season for five years, so it was high time I took some pictures. Blue hour only lasts for 20 minutes though. ;) And during those 20 minutes the ice rink was practically empty! I think I'll have to go back soon.
