The weather hasn't been extremely photographer-friendly lately, at least as far as sunny fall-colored landscapes go. I did manage to catch a few glimpses of sun rays as well as yellow and red leaves at Lake Bohinj, but clouds were stubborn and wouldn't go away completely. At one moment, the sky was perfect with puffy white clouds, and the red slopes were bathing in the sun.
I hadn't been to Slovenian Karst (Kras) for a while and since the fall is one of the best seasons to go there, I quickly made a decision one Saturday in late October. Driving around the area I admired the colors of the vine leaves, which ranged from yellow to red. At the end of the day, I visited Štanjel, one of the most picturesque little Karst villages.
Every second Sunday in October there is a regatta in the bay of Trieste, the biggest in the Mediterranean with about 2,000 vessels participating in various classes and divisions. A group of friends rented a sailboat to see the regatta from the sea and enjoy the sunny afternoon sailing along the (very long :)) Slovenian coast.
