Mt. Debela peč in the fall
It took us over half an hour to climb through the forest from the parking lot to Blejska hut. The sun hadn't come up yet.
As soon as we started up the path beyond the hut, the sun appeared from behind the clouds.
The sunrise and the Pokljuka plateau.
Morning mist at the Javornik pasture.

Blejska hut from the path to Mt. Debela peč.
The sun soon illuminated the peaks above us.
Larch-covered slopes everywhere.
Golden larches in the morning sun.
As we climbed higher, the gently ascending path led us through larches and rocks.
Everywhere we looked were more larches.
The blue sky soon gave way to ominous dark clouds and we hurried toward the summit to catch the views.
Panorama below the summit.
Mt. Triglav in all its glory.
The final slope of Debela peč.
Views from the top at 2014 meters above sea level towards the Julian Alps and Triglav that got shrouded in clouds fast.
Tanja on her way up.
Rocky north face and larches.
Krma Valley down below.
Krma Valley offered some interesting patterns with its trees.
The weather was now cloudy, everything was grey. Happy for having had a sunny beginning of our hike and sad at the same time because photo-ops were apparently over for that day, we left Debela peč.
We continued on the ridge toward the next peak, Mt. Brda.
Jackdaws are always waiting for a bite.
Tanja and I were sad because the sun was gone.
Mountain flora.
Descending from Mt. Brda.
Surprise, surprise! The clouds went away and the skies turned blue again! We were happy!
We stopped from time to time to enjoy the views and take photos.
Mt. Brda.
The floor of Krma Valley is a long way down.
With blue skies and puffy white clouds we couldn't be happier.
Rugged south face of Mt. Rjavina.
Panoramic view of Mt. Triglav and its surroundings.
There were a few steep sections of the trail with steel ropes.
Going down before going up again.
Just before the last peak we climbed that day, Mt. Mrežce.
The end of Krma Valley in deep shadows.
By now the mist on the Javornik meadow was gone.
Another steep section of the trail.
There was Blejska hut, half hour down the slope.
We were surprised that not many other hikers were around.
But then the weather changed once more. I just caught the last sunrays here, then it got dark again.
Just imagine there is Mt. Triglav in the clouds. :)
The trail back to our starting point led through some more larch trees.
Old larches.
Relaxing.
We had lunch at Blejska hut from where we could see the peaks we had just climbed.
Blejska hut and Pokljuka in the background.
The glorious weather was back again.
Fiery larches.
Panoramic view at Blejska hut.
Sunray.
Leaving the hut and looking back for the last time before descending into the woods.
The hut and a boy.
Before going home, we stopped at the Javornik meadow that could be seen so beautifully from our hike.
A detail in wood.
The views of the mountains we'd climbed that day.
There are quite a few shepherd's huts.
There was an interesting cloud forming above Debela peč.
Huts and mountains.
An old decayed hut.
Two spruces.
